Ex-Goldman Sachs Executive Says He’s Long XRP After Pouncing on ‘Opportunity of a Lifetime’
Former Goldman Sachs government Raoul Pal says he’s betting on XRP.
In a new interview with lawyer John Deaton, the Actual Imaginative and prescient chief government says he purchased the asset after the U.S. Securities and Change Fee (SEC) sued Ripple and claimed XRP was an unregistered safety.
“When you see something like that, it’s like, ‘Okay, now the price has been massively discounted. We know it’s a real thing, half the people have been shut out of the market, this is the opportunity of a lifetime.’ So that’s when I bought it. And I’ve held it ever since.”
Pal says he purchased XRP for a similar cause he bought Ethereum (ETH) challenger Solana (SOL).
“The crisis arrives. The price gets absolutely smashed, but I can see that there is a vibrant community with real use cases of the chain going on. It’s not ghost use, it’s real use, so in which case, time to put your capital at work. Simple as that.”
XRP, the fifth-ranked crypto asset by market cap, is buying and selling at $0.627 at time of writing.
SOL is buying and selling at $71.65 at time of writing. The sixth-ranked crypto asset by market cap is up greater than 5% prior to now 24 hours.
